“Firefighters across the state of Maine, and the citizens we serve, are mourning the devastating loss of Jacob “Jake” Madden, a dedicated firefighter and family man. Madden had a passion for the fire service from a young age, and as soon as he was able he took the steps to become a firefighter. He dedicated his professional career to protecting others. He served in Lowell, Maine, and Old Town (IAFF Local 1655) before transitioning to the Bangor Fire Department in 2021. His brothers and sisters on the front line remember him as more than just a dedicated firefighter, but as one who never stopped trying to make people laugh. Always happy and cheerful, his crew loved him and loved working alongside him.”

As Madden’s family and Bangor’s firefighters continue to grieve, we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
