Add 8 cloves minced garlic and cook 1 to 2 minutes. Add 1 28-ounce can San Marzano diced tomatoes and cook 5 minutes to thicken. Fill pot halfway with water. Add oregano, salt and pepper. Heat over high flame. Rinse beans with cold water and add to pot. Cover and simmer soaked beans until tender, about 2 hours. Boil 1 pound ditalini pasta in salted water for 7 to 8 minutes. Strain and add to pot with beans. Serve with grated parmesan cheese. For garlic bread, melt 1 8-ounce stick salted butter in a pan and add 3 minced garlic cloves. Stir and turn off flame. Slice open 2 loaves Italian bread, smear with garlic butter and put in broiler until brown and crusty. Serves 6.
